World Cambodian Congress for Peace and Development The Honorable Benjainin A. Gilman October 22, 1997 Dear Mr. Chairman: I would like to send you additional petitions from other Cambodian-Americans who missed the chance to join the 9/16/97 group of more than 1,000 Cambodian-Americans and friends of Cambodia who requested you and the Honorable Jesse Helms to: With your help and the Administration support, the World Bank and the IMF quickly suspended multilateral aids to Hun Sen regime last month. However, it is imperative that the ADB (Asian Development Bank) should follow suit and very soon to emphasize that message. We would like to take this opportunity to request that Hun Sen, his associates and members of their family be put on Personae Non Grata List, therefore will be banned from entering the United Sates, in addition to the War Criminal List along with Pol Pot and other Khmer Rouge killers as Senate Resolution No. 195 and the House Cambodia Caucus called for. It is not acceptable that some, who do not have a sense of justice, continue to try to impose a fail accompli because the killer has the upper hand. Wc continue to express our sincere concerns over the current turmoil brought about by the bloody coup d'etat of July 5-6 1997 by Hun Sen and subsequent communist style torture and cold blood killings of opposition political figures as reported by the United Nations Center for Human Rights in Phnom Penh. We believe that Cambodia will move out of such treacherous path toward national reconciliation only when justicc is rendered I thank you again for your constant support for a peaceful and stable society in Cambodia. Very Sincerely. PekThov Tan, Chairman Attachments
