WCCPD of New England is very fortunate and privilege to have Dr. Naranhkiri Tith as the keynote speaker for the first seminar in New England and the celebration of the Cambodian New Year at this region. Before Dr.Tith began, he requested a moment of silence from the audiences for many Cambodian who have been killed in the past. He introduced with little of his personal background and why he still loyal and dedicates his time and energy with willingness to help Cambodia at age 65. He stated that deforestation in Cambodia is the crisis issue at present time. Dictatorship, corruption, child prostitution and AIDS are up rising. Vietnamese population is increasing to 10% in Cambodia. These are a few issues among many more. In order to be success in solving these issues by not using force but with peaceful strategy, intellectual and knowledge of understanding the consequences. He also condemned Hun Sen's privatization of property in Cambodia (City Hall, University) to foreigners for his own pocket money. WCCPD stand strong and believe in democracy, tolerate dictatorship and do not compromise; this is the goal of WCCPD. Briefly, Dr. Tith also mentioned about WCCPD's successful action by convincing United States Congress not to allow Hun Sen's delegation in the UN and cutting off aids to his regime. He stressed strongly about Cambodia's crisis not just in the past but the future if democracy is not established. Furthermore, to prevent the massacre from happening again in Cambodia, he urged Cambodian who reside in US to support their representatives, vote for them so they will not forget us when they win the election. As an example, American Indian; `` No nation, no culture and they are forgotten ". WCCPD can help open the door to democracy to Cambodian people with fair election. Individual who joints WCCPD will gain no fame but blame, because we act as a `` Watch Dog `` for Cambodia and the people. Dr. Tith also quoted that `` Success has many fathers but failure is orphan ". According to Dr.Tith's sources, if the July election will be held freely, the majority of Cambodian people will not vote for CPP. Hun Sen's infamous regime does all they can to intimidate, cut off radio communication and propaganda's material to other parties. To guarantee a free and fair election, UN military action must be present. Lacking of full strength form other parties and international community in Cambodia at the present time, delaying the election's date 3 to 4 months will not be a bad idea. Last but not least, Dr. Tith had concluded, `` Reconstructing Cambodia must take political will ". He stated that `` Cambodia is the country without the heroes only villains ``. In relentless pursuing of excellent, Cambodians must recognize the intellectuals from different fields such as arts, music, philosophy, and sports not just intellectual in political environment alone".
