What WCC Must Do to Enhance Democracy and Combat Tyranny in Cambodia Much has already been achieved by WCC to help contain Hun Sen's murderous policies and to help democratic forces in Cambodia. However, much remains to be accomplished. WCC's positive results to promote the rule of law and human rights in Cambodia was basically the results of its ability to provide timely and accurate information to the US Congress regarding Hun Sen's plans and projected activities to destroy the opposition. WCC was also able to provide accurate and timely analysis and information to the US Congress on the policy of appeasement of Hun Sen by the US State Department. Despite the bloody coup and the killings of opposition opposition parties official by Hun Sen and the CPP, the US State Department continues the same appeasement policy with only a few cosmetic changes. Therefore, WCC still has a great deal of work to do for the defense of the survival of the Cambodian people. To achieve this difficult task, WCC must continue to inform the world public opinion through the "friends of Cambodia's" governments of this danger and injustice against the majority of the Cambodian people. WCC must make more efforts to inform the US Congress and impress upon it to ask President Clinton to play a more active role in order to correct this immoral and unjust policy toward Cambodia.
