A Cambodian View of Sam Rainsy

Good morning Luk Lundy,

Thanks for your reply, though the answers are still weak and I'm not convinced yet.

Yes, I have followed the Cambodian's events and have been to Cambodia numerous times, to see the truth so that I won't be misleading. And the truth is that Sam Rainsy is very weak and his supporters are very racist. They claim to be an opposition party that fights for democracy but when other people oppose their opposition for the sake for "democracy", they label them as Youn. If they lead the country, the jails will be overcrowded.

Honestly, I do not understand why you do not see that Mr. Rainsy will turn out to be either a WEAK leader who brings an end to Cambodia, or he will be just like Hun Sen who turns out to be just like Sihanouk.

As I remember, in 1993, we thought that Cambodia had found a true leader, when Mr. Rainsy showed up in politics. We watched his tape when he gave out an open discussion with the students in Cambodia, brought us attention that he Must be the One. Unfortunately, he is no different, even worse. This would answer to your statement that he was born with wealth and now he wants Power. I wonder, if he gets the power would he do the same to the King as the King did to his father! Would this be the reason that turns him into this kind of person?  Please, convince me.

I do not agree with your explanation about the suppression from the gvn on his party. Though, let assume that it is true, still he does not gain participation from people abroad, who can be spoken or act freely without the suppression from Hun Sen. Don't you see that everyday people withdraw their support. One example: there are many of Khmer people who hate to see Youn living in Cambodia, older generation in particular.

Those old people who live on their SSI checks, volunteer to send money every month to support his party in Cambodia, hoping he will help clear this Youn issue.... Every time we follow his action, every time we see him swing left, swing right manipulating this issue for his own benefit.

Anyway, thank you for your explanation and your commitment to help our country but please assure me that the supporters are not those who want the share the feast when Robin Hood gets the power, using Cambodia as an excuse.

Again thank you and have a good day.

Araktoj
